Senior Research Fellow/Junior Research Fellow/Project Associate positions have been declared for IIT Roorkee Recruitment 2023. The Indian Institute of Technology-Roorkee (IIT-Roorkee) has been asked to participate in the consultancy/research project(s) as the principal investigator, with the Department of Science and Technology as the project sponsor. There are three open positions for these roles. Candidates with a B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Plan/M. Arch degree are eligible to apply for these jobs.

Eligibility details:

Qualifications in education:

• A comprehensive GIS-based toolkit for exploring the cultural routes of Bhatia’s trade routes in Uttarakhand is the project title.

• Senior Research Fellow/Junior Research Fellow: Postgraduate degree in Architecture, Conservation, Landscape, or a similar field of Spatial Information Technology. The candidate is chosen through a procedure described in one of the following ways.

• National Eligibility Tests-CSIR UGC NET, including lectureship (Assistant professorship) and GATE National-level exams are held by central government departments, agencies, and institutions.

Experience:

• A minimum of two years of research experience is needed for SRF.
• Working knowledge and expertise with AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, and ArcGIS. Image editing and web-GLS application development tools are preferable. It is beneficial to collaborate with mountain communities.

Associate for the Project:

• Postgraduate degree in Architecture, Conservation, Landscape, or any Spatial information Technology related field, or degree related to B.Tech (software development) or B.Arch/B.Planning from a recognized institution.
• AutoCAD, Sketch-up, ARCGis, Web-GIS Application development, and image editing tools knowledge and expertise are preferred.

• Job description: This job necessitates three distinct skill sets.

• Documentation of cultural legacy along trade routes in the Bhotia tribe routes in the mountain regions of Pithoragh, Uttarakhand, using intensive fieldwork.
• The second set of abilities includes ARC GIS, Spatial tools, and analysis. It is preferable to have experience developing WebGIS portals.
• Working understanding of Web portal creation incorporating rich cultural heritage documentation via fieldwork and spatial tools.
• Note: Duration of the project: 2 years and 9 months

Salary:

• Senior Research Fellow: 35,000 USD per month plus 8% HRA

• Junior Research Fellow: 31,000 USD per month plus 8% HRA

Associate for the Project:

• Scholars selected through National Eligibility Tests-CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or National level exams held by central government departments and their agencies and institutions will be paid 31,000 per month plus HRA.
• 25,000/- plus HRA for those who do not meet the above criteria.
