Qualifications in education:
[Library] Scientific Assistant -C:
- Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Library and Information Science. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience in a large academic library at Level 6 in the pay matrix under the seventh CPC or an equivalent position.
- Skills Required: Knowledge of Linux/Mac/Windows operating systems and office management software modules such as writer, spreadsheet, and presentation, among others. KOHA or equivalent library management software. Library Dspace, Eprints, and other repository management software. Management of RFID systems in libraries
- Desirable abilities: Practical experience with various modules of library management software, including acquisition, cataloguing, circulation, and user services. Repository management software is used to keep track of theses/dissertations and other archival materials. Handling RFID-based library services such as circulation, inventory, and so on.
- Job Description: The Scientific Assistant ‘C’ assists in the smooth operation of the Institute Library’s activities, as well as the systematic maintenance of records about books, journal subscription and management, user support, and other library services. The Scientific Assistant ‘C’ is also responsible for the smooth operation of library circulation activities, including follow-up actions with users. For deserving candidates, a higher starting salary may be considered.
- Document verification: Prior to the start of the interview, candidates must produce the relevant certificates in original for verification and submit one set of attested copies for records. Candidates will not be permitted to appear for interviews if their certificates are not valid.

IMSC Recruitment 2023 Selection Process:
- A written test and an interview are used to select Scientific Assistant -C [Library]. Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria alone will be called for the written test, and those who pass the written test will be called for an interview based on cut-off marks.
- The date, time, and location will be communicated separately via email, in addition to displaying the list of screened-in applicants on the IMSC website.
- Only the marks obtained during the interview will be considered for final selection.
