Patna High Court Recruitment 2023 notification has been issued for Assistant positions in various disciplines. There are approximately 550 open positions for the aforementioned positions. Candidates with a Graduate degree or diploma are eligible to apply for the positions.
Patna High Court: It is the High Court of Bihar. It was founded on February 3, 1916, and was later affiliated under the Government of India Act of 1915. Sir Justice Edward Maynard Des Champs Chamier, the first Chief Justice of the Patna High Court.

Qualifications in education:
Assistant:
- Graduation from a recognised university/institution in any discipline.
- A six-month diploma/certificate course in computer application from a recognised institution.
- Qualifications Preferentially: Other things being equal, a candidate who has served in the Territorial Army for at least two years or a candidate who has obtained a ‘B’ certificate of the National Cadet Corps will be given preference in direct recruitment to the establishment at the time of interview.
Age Limit (as of January 1, 2023):
A candidate must be at least 18 years old and born no later than January 1, 2005.
Age Reduction:
- Male, unreserved & EWS: 37 years
- Unreserved & EWS (Female): 40 years BC / EBC (Male & Female): 40 years SC/ ST (Male & Female): 42 years OH (locomotor): 47 years
- The upper age limit for those employed by the Central Government or the Government of Bihar will be relaxed by 5 years.

Patna High Court Recruitment 2023 Selection Procedure:
- Preliminary Test/Written Test (Descriptive Type)/Computer Proficiency Test/Interview are all part of the selection process.
- Candidates will be chosen solely on the basis of merit in an open and transparent process.
- Selection will be made based on the candidate’s performance in the written test and interview, and a select list as well as a panel (waiting list) will be created as a result.
The qualifying standard must be at least
- 40% on the Preliminary Exam.
- 40% in each section of the Written Test
- 30% in the interview.
Preliminary Exam:
- The Preliminary Test will be held to shortlist candidates for the next stage of examination, namely the Written Test, and the marks obtained by candidates in this test will not .
- This examination will include 100 Objective Type Questions with multiple choice answers.
- In the preliminary test, there will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.
- The Preliminary Test will be worth 100 points, with a minimum qualifying score of 40.
Written Exam:
- The Written Test will be descriptive in nature, with two sections of 60 marks each for General English and General Hindi.
- To be considered for interview, a candidate must obtain 40% minimum qualifying marks in the sections of General English and General Hindi, i.e. 24 and 16 marks, respectively.
- Candidates will be shortlisted for the next stage, which is a computer proficiency test and interview, three times out of the total number of advertised vacancies (following the model roster point and the reservation policy adopted by the High Court).
Computer Proficiency Examination:
The Computer Proficiency Test will be of a qualifying nature and will include the following questions:
Word Processing Test on MS Word: This test will assess candidates’ basic typing skills as well as their knowledge of MS Word.
Spread Sheets MS Excel Test: This test will assess your basic knowledge of MS Excel.
Internet Proficiency:– This test will target to test the basic understanding of internet usage.

Interview:
The interview will be worth 10 points, with a minimum qualifying score of 03.
Candidates who are invited for interviews must attend or they will not be included in the merit list prepared for the final result.
The total marks earned by a candidate in both the Written Test and the Interview will be used to calculate the final merit.
