2022 SSC CHSL Exam –
The Staff Selection Commission has announced the results of the Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Examination 2022 for the positions of Lower Divisional Clerk/ Junior Secretariat Assistant, Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant, and Data Entry Operators. This exam is open to candidates who have completed their 12th grade. The examination is used in the selection process. Eligible candidates may apply online for this position by January 4, 2023. The eligibility criteria and SSC CHSL online application process are detailed below.

Eligibility Details
Qualifications (as of January 1, 2022):
- Candidates for LDC/ JSA, PA/ SA, DEO (except DEOs in C&AG) must have completed the 12th Standard or an equivalent examination from a recognised Board or University.
- For the position of Data Entry Operator (DEO Grade ‘A’) in the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG), a 12th Standard pass in Science with Mathematics as a subject from a recognised Board is required, or an equivalent qualification.
- Candidates must have the Essential qualification on or before the closing date for online applications, which is 04-01-2023.
Age Limit(As on 1 Jan 2022): 18 to 27 years.
Reductions in the upper age limit:
- 5 years for SC/ST applicants
- OBC candidates have three years.
- Others as per government rules. 10 years for PWD candidates (13 years for OBC, 15 years for SC/ST).
Salary Details:
- Pay Level-2 (Rs. 19,900-63,200) for Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA).
- Pay Level 4: Postal Assistant (PA)/ Sorting Assistant (SA) (Rs. 25,500-81,100).
- DEO (Data Entry Operator): Level-4 (Rs. 25,500-81,100) and Level-5 (Rs (Rs. 29,200-92,300).Grade ‘A’ Data Entry Operator: Pay Level-4 (Rs. 25,500-81,100).
SSC CHSL Exam Selection Process:
SSC CHSL 2022 examination will consist of a Computer Based Examination (Tier-I), Descriptive Paper (Tier-II), Typing Test/ Skill Test (Tier-III) (Tier-III).
Tier-I (Objective Type) Computer-Based Exam:
- The Tier I examination will only include Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions.
- The total time allotted is 60 minutes, with a maximum score of 200 for 100 questions.
- For each incorrect answer, 0.50 points will be deducted.
- For Parts II, III, and IV, questions will be set in both English and Hindi.

Tier-II (Descriptive Paper)
- Tier II Paper will be a 100-mark descriptive paper in pen and paper mode.
- The length of the paper would be one hour (20 minutes compensatory time will also be provided to the candidates mentioned in Para 7 above). This paper was created to assess candidates’ writing skills, which are required for government jobs.
- The paper would consist of writing an essay of 200-250 words and a letter/application of 150-200 words. In Tier II, the minimum qualifying mark would be 33%.
- The paper must be written in either Hindi or English. Part of the paper will be written in Hindi, while the other will be written in English.
Tier-III (Skill Test/ Typing Test):
Tier III of the examination would consist of a qualifying skill test/typing test. Skill Test errors will be calculated to two decimal places.

SSC CHSL Exam Selection Process:
SSC CHSL 2022 examination will consist of a Computer Based Examination (Tier-I), Descriptive Paper (Tier-II), Typing Test/ Skill Test (Tier-III).
Computer-Based Examination: Tier-I (Objective Type):
- Tier-I Examination will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions only.
- Total duration is 60 minutes and Maximum marks is 200 for 100 questions.
- There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.
- The questions will be set both in English & Hindi for Part-II, III & IV

Tier-II (Descriptive Paper)
- Tier-II Paper will be a descriptive Paper of 100 Marks in Pen and Paper Mode
- The duration of the paper would be for one hour (20 minutes compensatory time will also be provided to the candidates mentioned in Para 7 above). This paper has been introduced to assess the writing skills of the candidates which is necessary in Government jobs.
- The Paper would comprise writing of an Essay of 200-250 words and Letter/ Application of approximately 150-200 words. The minimum qualifying marks in Tier-II would be 33 per cent.
- The paper will have to be written either in Hindi or in English. Part paper written in Hindi and Part in English will be awarded zero marks.
Tier-III (Skill Test/ Typing Test):
Tier-III of the Examination would be the Skill Test/ Typing Test which would be of qualifying nature. Errors in the Skill Test will be calculated up to 2 decimal places.
