Qualifications in education:
Aeronautical Foreman:
- Any recognised university can award a degree in Aeronautical Engineering or Technology. OR Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers (AMIE) in the relevant field, for example, aeronautical.
- One year of relevant experience, such as aeronautical, from a recognised organisation.
Chemical Foreman:
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or Technology from a recognised university, plus one year of relevant experience in the relevant field, i.e. Chemical, from a recognised organisation. OR A Master’s Degree in Chemistry from a reputable university. OR Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers (AMIE) in the relevant field, for example, Chemical.
- One year of relevant experience, such as chemical, from a recognised organisation.
Computer (IT) Foreman:
- Degree in Computer Engineering or Technology from a recognised university, plus one year of relevant experience in the relevant field, i.e. Computer (IT) from a recognised organisation. OR A Master’s Degree in Computer Science from a reputable university. OR Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers (AMIE) in the relevant field, for example, computer.
- One year of relevant experience, such as computer (IT), from a recognised organisation.
Electrical Foreman:
- Any recognised university can award a degree in Electrical Engineering or Technology. OR Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers (AMIE) in the relevant field, for example, electrical.
- One year of relevant experience, such as electrical, from a recognised organisation.
Electronics Foreman:
- Any recognised university can award a degree in Electronics Engineering or Technology.
- One year of experience in the relevant field, such as electronics, from a recognised organisation. OR a Master’s Degree in Electronics or Physics with a concentration in Electronics. OR A degree in Electronics from the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE).
Metallurgy Foreman:
- A bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering or technology from a recognised university is required. OR Metallurgical Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers (AMIE).
- One year of relevant experience, such as metallurgy, from a recognised organisation.
Cotton Foreman:
- Any recognised university can award a degree in textile engineering or technology. OR Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers (AMIE) in the relevant field, for example, textile.
- One year of relevant experience, such as textile, from a recognised organisation.
Deputy Director of Human Resources:
- A master’s degree from a recognised university or institute in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Commerce, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Public Administration, or Business Administration.
- Five years of relevant experience.
Mines Assistant Controller:
- Bachelor of Engineering or Technology in Mining Engineering from a reputable university or college.
- Three years of core mining experience in: (a) a managerial position in metalliferous (non-coal) mines, including time as a graduate, management, or junior trainee engineer. Alternatively, a Master of Engineering or Technology in Mining Engineering from a recognised university or institution is required.
- One year of core mining experience is required.
Officer of Labor:
- A degree from a recognised university or its equivalent is required.
- Postgraduate Degree/Diploma in Social Work, Labour Welfare, Industrial Relations, or Personnel Management from a recognised University/Institution or equivalent.
- Three years of responsible Labour Welfare work experience.
Age Limit (as of March 2, 2023):
- 30 years as a foreman
- 40 years as Deputy Director of Employment
- Mines Assistant Controller: 35 years
- 33 years of experience as a labour officer
Age Reduction:
- Servants for up to 5 years, as per instructions issued from time to time by the Government of India.
- This means that Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes candidates will be granted a maximum of 10 years of age relaxation, in addition to the 5 years of age relaxation granted to their respective categories.
- Similarly, OBC candidates would be eligible for a maximum of 8 years, including a three-year age relaxation.
- This relaxation will be available to government employees with three years of continuous service in the Central Government.
Salary:
- Foreman / Labour Officer: Level 07 in the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
- Deputy Director of Employment: Level 11 in the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
- Assistant Controller of Mines: Level 10 in the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.

UPSC Recruitment 2023 Selection Process:
- Candidates will be selected for interviews solely based on the information provided in their online applications.
- The minimum level of suitability in interviews will be UR/EWS-50 marks, OBC-45 marks, SC/ST/PwBD-40 marks, out of a total of 100 marks, regardless of whether the selection is made only.
- In cases where the candidate is chosen through a Recruitment Test (RT) followed by an interview, the candidate must achieve a minimum level of suitability in their respective category at the interview stage.
Fees for applications:
